A familiar annoyance

To some it was as though a familiar green rash had returned to bother them again. To others it was simply the inevitable draw of the underdark bringing back one who's soul was bound to the will of Lolth and the all powerful drow. These people, of coursem were idiots.

Others simply greeted me in elven or whichever surface tongues they knew, the more friendly or insulting ones having by now given me the name of to'ryll craz, which I thought was accurate enough not to warrant any rebuttles. Not to mention that to do so would let on that I knew the drow tongue, and I wasn't about to do that to the population at large.

None of the drow knew what I'd returned for, but I was still in the business of doing favors for whoever had the money or the influence to repay me. But the senseless enrichment and adding to my own coffers by selling off spells or wisdom of the surface wasn't my real objective. I'd been making my little excursions to try to gain an audience with Gia and see what she meant to do with Alais and her child and what the two could hope for if they were to return willingly to Navere.

For now though I was content to barter with drow wizards and see what I could see until my chance came.
